A Karuizawa institution, Asanoya is famous and deserves its excellent reputation. Everything is fantastic and generally good value compared to nearby competitors. More ideally suited for takeout than eating in. Staff are very friendly.
Fresh bread, taste and smell good
Tasty breads. I like the one with fresh cherry tomatoes inside. The blueberry bread is also great.
Fantastic bakery with a more wholesome, rustic style of bread. The cream cheese and chestnut pretzel is delicious. Very busy for lunch (there are a few tables out the back for a la carte and some counter seats at the window for eat in for the bakery).
This very popular bakery is institution to this area. Now more than a few sister shops in Tokyo. Very decent artisan bread as well as pastries. S-shaped hard bread with chocolate chips and cranberry was very good.
the Dutch baby is awesome!
It was crowded on Obon weekend, but we didnt have to wait too long for a table in the small eat-in corner. The soup+bread set for 700yen was reallt worth it. The variety of bread was nice and each tasted amazing. My friend had the sandwich/burger meals and they loved it too.
Lots of bread I've never seen!Bread full of originality, easy-to-understand pops, atmosphere of the store and display, wonderful! All of them were full of delicious bread, and I ate about 2,000 minutes for the bread I was interested in.There is also an eat-in space in the store, and water is free.I want to come again! It was a wonderful bakery that made me think.
They have good bread selection and delicious
Old style and old fashioned bakery cafe. I liked their breads and pastries especially the big pretzel, perfectly paired with their coffee. I like this shop because it is in contrast with the generic Starbucks type coffee shop. I really enjoyed my stay here by the window and got to see the quaint and quiet little world of Karuizawa. Get your spot by the window too.
Actor John Lennon is a favorite bakery.John Lennon is said to have a villa in Karuizawa.I think it's a popular and popular place. The price is a bit expensive but the bread tastes good. The movie star is worthy.
Really love chocolate bread.
Stopped by for a quick bite as the place looked popular. Lots of interesting bakery options, although actual taste not amazing. The tomato mozzarella ball was the most interesting. The cranberry and cheese bun was ok.. would be better if they used a different kind of cheese (this one was like cream cheese). The pandan muffin was underwhelming -fluorescent green in colour but not much pandan taste. Worth a try if in the area but not amazing
I went there for the first time!  I bought two. The first is cinnamon roll. The second is charred whip and custard. When I return from touring, I want to taste and eat well.
January 2020Visit late in the New Year holidays.Old light was empty and rattled because it was a weekday. The glass case looks gorgeousLots of stylish bread.Impression that there are a lot of bread which is close to hardware.Order in person and say cashier at the endIt is a shopping style, but the backI could not order the bread because I did not understand it wellSince it is difficult to place additional orders after lining up at the cash register☆ 4.I don't think it's expensive. The things are rather large, and the ingredients are rugged(^_^)
I really love this place. It's comfy and you feel very well while staying there. That's a very good French bakery for acceptable prices (I'm french :)).The staff is very friendly and you have a zone where you can sit and enjoy what you bought in front of a chimney or while looking at the street.I wanted to put 4.5 because there is a kind of fee if you stay (around 11 yen I think). That's nothing to be honest but I don't really understand why. Also the kind of bar at the end should be reworked to match the rest of the store. Everything is made in wood and feel like a wood house in the middle of mountains (feel great) and this part is old fashioned and not well maintained, that's the only negative point.
Apple bread was just good, recommendedðŸ‘ðŸ»
Fantastic indeed, open early and one hell of a crossiant. The ham cheese croquette was to die for.
bread is amazing!
One of the two French bakeries on Ginza Dori in Kyukaruizawa. The other is just across the street. Great selection of pastries and breads, including my favorites chocolate chip bread and chocolate croissants. Either take out, or eat at the tables, or at the counter. Good coffee and other beverages. Be aware, cash only; the nearby post office has a ATM that accepts foreign issue debit cards. There is a bathroom, and also a convenient sink to wash hands by the counter. This is a good place for breakfast, or an afternoon coffee break.
